Welcome to the Women Cell of the college where young women are groomed to face all the challenges of life with their head held high.Women Cell of the college views itself as a facilitator for young women so that they are able to realise their full potential and exercise their active influence on society to bring about its transformation. Women’s Cell follows a strategy that involves the personality development of women in divergent fields and all units in the college are actively involved towards their cause. The cell has been very active in working towards women empowerment and gender sensitization of our young women. Women Cell aims to provide a platform to young women to voice their thoughts and opinions and to share their experiences. It also aims at providing personal guidance, legal awareness on specific issues concerning women. The activities of the cell include among other things, engaging students in promoting awareness relating to women in the present social context, information on legal rights policies and counselling support. The women cell workshops and lectures on all issues concerning women. Besides these, the cell conducts such events as Mehndi competition, Pot making, Flower arrangment and Poster making etc. The ultimate aim of the women cell in this college is to prepare our young women as an active fusion of modernity and tradition.

WOMEN CELL REPORT FOR THE SESSION 2016-18

1.            Four students of our college participated in Mehendi Rachao Competition, On the Spot Painting Competition and Flower Arrangement held at CCS HAU, Hisar on 25th December 2016, Sheetal and Shweta got Second and First position in Painting and Flower Arrangement, respectively.

2.            ‘Free Eye Check up Camp’ from 6th February to 9th February 2017 was organized from 06.02.2017 to 09.02.2017 in collaboration with NSS and Women Cell of this college for the students and the faculty. Several Women Cell volunteers came forward and made this noble cause a great success. Dr. Manjula with her efficient team from Geetanjali Eye Hospital spared their valuable time for the camp.

3.            On 8th March, 2017 Principal Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma addressed the girl students and encouraged them to make their life more disciplined and to be more independent in every sphere. At this talk, he emphasized that women are the bearers of human race and are truly regarded as heavenly sculpted structure that case about all.

4.            Students of our college participated in Inter College Essay Writing Competition held at Dayal Singh College, Karnal on 11.09.2017.

5.            Pooja participated in Inter College Essay Writing Competition organized by Women Cell of Indira Gandhi (P.G.) Mahila Mahavidyalaya on 10.10.2017.

6.            An Inter Class Mehendi Rachao Competition was organized on 07.10.2017 in college campus. About thirty students participated from different classes. This competition was judged by Dr. Suman Sardana, Dr. Renu Rathee and Dr. Suruchi Sharma.

7.            A lecture-cum-workshop was conducted by Dr. Valaria Sethi, Convener, Women Cell for the benefit of members and the students. She taught how they can use basic strokes, simple designs, various traditional designs and many mehendi designs to bring colour into their life.

8.            Three students of our college participated in Inter College Poetry Recitation Organised by ‘Beti Bachoo Beti Padhao’ Committee, Vaish College, Bhiwani on 8th November, 2017.

9.            Women Cell organized an Inter Class Rangoli Competition and Poster Competition on 11th October, 2017.

 

10.          Volunteers of Women Cell participated in “Chrysanthemum Flower Show and Competitions” held at CCS HAU, Hisar on 23rd December, 2017 in Mehendi Rachao Contest, Rangoli Competition, On the Spot Painting Competition and Declamation Contest. Sheetal, Anubhav, Rakshita and Zile Singh got First, Second position in Mehendi, Rangoli and Declamation Contest, respectively.
